Alice In Wonderland

A Tim Burton- Jonny Dep version of the old classic, which makes them pretty much type casting, and lends the perfect atomsphere for the works in question. Imagined as taking place 13 years after the original when Alice is 19 and remembers her adventures in Wonderland as only a childhood dream, it has many of the classic characters as well as a bit of a battle at the end- which when I first saw it in the trailers I tought how not like Wonderland this is, until I saw it in context in the film.

I loved the atmosphere; it's perfect for Wonderland. The girl playing Alice is lovely, Alan Rickman is the voice of the catterpillar, Jonny Dep as the Mad Hatter (and actually making hats!), and a whole bunch of other big names. Everything is as mad as it should be, though more of a standard plotline than either of the books (though not really sure if they did have a real plotline). No complaints, it's a really good matinee' movie and quite enjoyable.
