Buffy's Last WB Episode

Recently the last episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer to be aired on WB before the movie to UPN was shown. A significant enough event worthy of a review, for a series long overdue for a few Emmy nods.

In a series know for it's intense drama cloaked in a well-fleshed genre-soaked atmosphere, the finale of Buffy was something to see! Drama, bravery, sacrifice, end of the world stuff (again), and a culmination of five years of one of the best series to ever hit television. Even the opening "Previously on Buffy" flashback tells it all by lashing back throughout the entire series, then following up with one last vampire slaying for old-times sake. There is emotion in this series, in this episode, that the Big Three Networks would like to approach, yet no one is going to give due consideration at a eries with "Buffy" and "vampire" in the title.

That is their loss.

Just remember when you're the same age as those old stiffs that decide who deserves awards, what good television should be and what the addrenaline felt like when something like Buffy's last climatic battle srent it pumping through your veins. Who knows, maybe that's the cure for old age, the way to prevent your mind from withering away. Just put on an old episode of something like Buffy or B5, sit back, and remember that the greats are not often recognized in their own time- if only because the old guys in charge are too busy trying to recall their own past. Remember your past, adapt for the future, and keep all the lessons you learned from Buffy deep in your heart where adventure and drama dwell.

Buffy, I salute you. You saved the world a lot.
