A film that reads as Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots meets Rocky, particularily in the last reel (seriously, it's like they took the scene straight out of the first Rocky movie, just substituting robots for people, and uping it to Zeus instead of Apollo), but despite that it is actually a really good movie. Great, even. I felt the emotion, wanted to cheer at the end, and left in a very good mood. This film came out better than expected, and far better than something based on the old Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots game should deserve.

Does it have its flaws? Could have used some behind the scenes with the two bad guys that run the Champ, maybe have the inventor guy of them end with giving the almost-winners of the last bow a bow and handshake to at last acknowledge them while the lady goes storming out, but that's just me nitpicking. This film works and works well.
