This film is based on Japan's most famous and beloved story, about the true events of a group of 47 Ronin who faced death to restore the honor of their fallen lord. Add in a shape-changing witch, and you have a marvelpous stpry of courage, love, and combat, and the perfect Xmas Day adventure. I'd never seen anything based on the original story before, but I can say that this one was done rather well and held my interest.
