Alien Vs Predator: Requium

The obvious sequel to AVP, while somewhat entertaining is not as good as AVP. Not as much thought given to the characters or plot, mostly to the action with some Federal reactions thrown in. Picking up right where AVP reaves off, it's a Predator trying to hiunt down the alien-predator hybrid before it has much time to breed like a cockroach on speed (helped out by all those face-huggers the Predators so thoughtfully have onboard their ship.

Just a couple of thoughts here. First, in the original Alien movie, the time between the chest burster and seeing a full-grown alien seemed like about a couple of hours. Since then that time has decreased until now it's almost a "blink and you'll miss it" time period after bursting through the chest. After that it's nearly all the Predator killing Aliens and the occasional Human, with the Aliens quickly turning a small town into Alien-central. But finally it comeds down to the inevitable confrontation between Alien-Predator and Predator whilest the Humans are trying to flee (what's left of them), but we never do get to quite see which of those two would win, as the government decides to drop a bomb on the place before said fight scene is quite finished... sorta makes the whole confrontation pointless if this was doomed to happen in the first place. I would have prefered at least that one on one battle resolved before nuking things.

Anyway, see it as matinee' if you wish. Being the cheesey monster movie that it is, it rates a Camembare.
