Bedazzled

The Brenden Frasier remake of the old Duddly Moore film, this film has a hapless dweeb given a chance to change his life with seven wishes. Problem is, they're being given by the Devil. Seeing a one-foot thick contract isn't warning enough, the half-wit takes up the offer and thus begins a parade of mosbegotten wishes.

Frasier shows his acting range in tis film, though the movie itself was rather ordinary as far as comedies go. The first part is nearluy painful yto watch as we see just how haples this nerd truly is, but after that we get into the usual snippets of expected comedic episodes when dealing with the Prince of Darkness. HIs wishes come to naught and our luckless hero winds up on the brink of loosing his soul. Of course, he finds a way out, though rather accidentally and involving the usual emotional plegm, instead of a more crafty approach of using the last wish to outwit the Devil (my solution: just wish that he'd never signed the contract).

Mildly entertaining, no big belly-laughs, but it does show nbrenden frasier's versatile range of acting. Now all we need is a versatile script to match.
