Bullet Proof Monk

A genre picture involving martial arts, mysticism, and magic, Chow Yun Fat is a nameless monk charged to agelessly guard a sacred scroll until the time comes when he must find a replacement. Throw in the usual amount of people that want to steal this all-powerful relic and you have a pretty good action movie.

Of course it also has the right dose of occassional in-character humor, a thing or two to figure out, the expected love interest, and of course plenty of wire-worked martial arts. Of special attention is a small roll provided by the venerable character actor Mako (think of every wise old Japanese gentleman you've ever seen, including the old wizard from the first Conan movie), a personal favorite of mine.

For a film of it's kind it'spretty good; not the best, but it kept my attentipon and kept me entertained, and that's what counts. A step up from a Cheesey Movie so I can't really rate it on that scale, but I can recommend it as perfect matinee fare.
