The Butterfly Effect

If you kill a butterfly in thepast then your present will be entirely different. or at least that's the premise of this film staring 70's Show lanky dunce Ashton Kutcher. In this film his character discovers a talent for time traveling back to certain points in his past under the right circumstances. each time he tries to alter a past action of his he changes his present only getting the perfectpresent seems about impossible without something else going horribly wrong.

The script seems reasonably well thought out for a time traveling inspired plot, considering most of such are pretty horrible and lacking in temporal logic. The ramifications of each action follow logically enough, ramifications brought about by the character's not thinking out his actions in his past too carefully. What's more, it seems as Ashton kutcher doesn't entirely resemble his chacter on That 70s show after all; he can actually take on a role that doesn't involve acting stupid- a plus for a post-70s career.

All in allnot a bad piece of entertainment. The first half hour is set up, but required for the plot that follows and then it's timeto keep at least a bit of your brain engaged because this film actually has a little bit of intellect behind it. Not a real mind-bender by any means but middle of the road in all measures of film entertainment.
