Dare Devil

another drawn-from-comics movie, this one of the blind lawyer turned superhero who alternately rages against Kingpin and against his frustrating love-life, the latter embodied by Electra.

As a lawyer he takes cases of only those who are innocent and need his help, which leaves him being paid more in fish and sports equipment then actual money. As Dare Devil he deals with any who exczpe the justice he fights for as a lawyer.

I can't speak for how accurate it may be compared to the comic (having never read it) but I can offer an opinion on Kingpin (from being a Spidey fan). Putting aside the matter of making him black instead of white, Michael Clarke Dunken, while he has the whole crime lord attitude down, he's too small to be Kingpin (put about two ofhim inside that suit and you abouthave it), though they tried to make him look bigger by putting a short guy in the role of his Second.

But is it a good movie? Not too bad. Good action (Dare Devil vs Electra, Dare Devil vs Bullseye, Dare Devil vs Kingpin), nice hint of something more regards Electra there at the end, interesting scenes with showing how Dare Devil "sees", but probably not the sort of movie for those used only to the likes of Superman or Spiderman. The soundtrack is worthless (based, as it is, around trash-rock stuff), but I still liked the movie pretty well. If you see it, hunt down where they're showing the enhanced print version.
