An amazingly pleasing sequel that has the good doctor trying to save a woodland by getting a circus bear to mate, with a little surpise thrown in towards the end (though one not unexpected by myself). I'd thought this film wouldn't be much more then filler but was pleasantly surprised to find it amuzing and entertaining.

The plot isn't the king here but Edie Murphies comic antics, and indeed you hear his dialog through nearly the entire film when the animals aren't talking. Yes the talking animals are the gimic but it's not a bad one, the only thing some paretns might find objectionable being the numerous scenes of animals marking territory and the inevitable breaking of wind in an enclosed space by a large bear gag.

Still, for the gap between big releases, it's worth checking out, a passable matinee' fare that had me smiling when I left the theater.
