Drag Me To H*LL

Sam Raimi's latest foray back into horror, it's not a bad job though not entirely original in certain "surprise" plot elements. A young blodn loan officer at a bank makes the mistake of denying a loan extension to the wrong little old lady while trying to climb the corporate ladder. Said lady being a gypsey who's pretty good with curses.

There's the usual elements of a curse; three days uhntil she gets dragged down to a very hot place, starting on day one with seeing things, being annoyed by an unnaturally persistent fly, then graduating to things flying around. When she finds out the details of the curse upon it, the way the guy explains it it was rather obvious to me how she could have gotten rid of it; somethijng that only occurs to her about a couple of reels later. Then later when she does catch on, the solution she has bumps into a predictable problem, with a very predictable bit of confusion (I kept saying to myself, "check the envelope, you've got the wrong one"). Thus the surprise twist at the end came as absolutely no surprise and ended up being a rather pedestrian ending. Me, I had another twist ijn mind that would have involved her boyfriend getting the cursed item as a mistaken gift in the mixup, condeming his soul instead, with herself left alive but knowing it's her fault her beloeved is forever gone. Oh well, can't have them all.

Anyway, a pretty fair movie though dond't expect nany new surprises.
