A fresh remake of the original, produced by the two Raimis and Bruce Campbell, this one is made for pure horror with none of the humor of the original. There's blood and plenty of it, people possessed, and a group of young people that just get truly raped by some demon. How does it compare? Like I said, this one's pure horror, but in that vein it works pretty bloody well, with a few moments that even had me cringing. Definitly not one for the kiddies. But if you're a fan of the original, the stay past the end credits for a quick cameo of The Chin.
