Godzilla 2000

Take heart B-movie fans, the Big Guy is back, and this time done up in true Toho style. That familiar rubber suit, those glowing spine ridges, and that fiery breath used anytime he's in trouble; it's all here, everything a true Godzilla fan could want.

The Big Guy is on the rampage again, this time being tracked by a home-brewed Monster Squad as he hunts down his latest object of vengeance. But a slight complication arises in the form of the usual ages-old alien ship with designs on Earth. Enter in Godzilla, who's probably just seeing this as an intrusion into his territory, and we all know how territorial he can get.

The usual slug-fest and end result, with one of the chatracters wondering why GOdzilla keeps protecting them even though he obviously hates us. News Flash: he's just territorial and Japan is his turf. No big alien is going to start tresspassing. And to prove that's his only motivation, after he deals with the alien he goes back to burning down Tokyo again.

Good matinee fare, so have the pretzels handy. Just a nice relaxing crumble through the jungle.
