Greek gods in the modern day world, where their progeny live amongst us in secret. One such as Percy Jackson, who doesn't know his special heritage. That doesn't stop him from being set up, however, accused of steeling Zeus' lightning bolt and now he has a limited time to find and return it... not to mention master hisdemigod heritage, avoid the perils chasing him, and get used to a secret world of other kids just like him.

I kinda liked this movie. New take on old themes, fun, though slipping over a few finer points of mythology like Medusa was already killed, but that might be nitpicking. And the plot wasn't exactly a surprise (I knew who the thief was from the first moment he appeared on screen). Still though, lots of good stuff going on, and it's always a good thing when Pierce Brosnan gets work. Good matinee' fare; cute.
