Max Keeble's Big Move

Goiung in I thought this one looked like a Disney television movie, then found out it was by Disney afterall. It still seemed like something they'd make for television or video and not for the theaters. I'm not sorry they did release it for theaters though as it tutrned out to be pretty funny.

First off, if you saw the first trailer they made for this one then you know the entire story, unlike in the later trailers in which they decided not to give away quite so much. Typical Disney looser-kid-at-school fare, even down to the guy playing the principle; a character actor who've I've seen in many such nasty-principle-guy roles before (and I thiunk not the first time he's had a cute and fuzzy down his pants). There's the bullies, the odd friends, the revenge from the oppressed, and the inevitable comeupance. All vey normnal and predictable but still fun nonetheless. In the end, laughing is what counts and I did that a few times.

I must say though, some of these kids in their junior high are about the oldest thirteen and fourteen year olds I've seen (and I'm not talking about the ones that are supposed to look like post-college people); the blond-bombshell of the picture looks at least sixteen, and the bullies must have been held back about two... or five years. I think the casting director forgot that junior high means a 11 to 14 age group and not 16 to 19. Just a minor gripe on the obvious though.

All in all an amusing enough comedy, though if you ant to save on money you could probably wait six months for the video or a year when Disney does put it on television, as I'm sure they will. Good for a few chuckles.
