Meet The Robinsons

Another Pixar-Disney animated flick, the version I saw having been unexpectedly the 3D version ($2 more), this one with a rather immaginative view of a future that hasn't been seen in a few years. Young inventor, age 12, has his big science fair project ruined by a malicious figure from the future, when a 13 year old boy also from the future comes back to help him out. The rest involves a trip to the future, meeting an eccentric family, the usual antics, run-ins with the mysterious figure, and some see-it-coming-half-an-hour-before-the-reveal revelations.

I read one review that found the plot too complex and confusing, but anytime you're in the future and someone is being overly evasive about the identity of someone there (the future-kid's father- saying he looks like Tom Selek, by the way, which when he does show up we find the voice is that of Tom Selek), it's a safe bet said someone is you in the future. The bad guy was equally easier to figure the identity of, so I can only guess that that confused reviewer has burned out a few brain cells.

Anyway, the film is pretty good, preceeded by a Donald Duck cartoon that hasn't been seen in 3D since its original theatrical airing in the 1950s, and while a bit short (around 90 mins), is quite a bit of fun. Nice matinee' material that kids and adults will equally enjoy.
