Take every Japanese monster movie ever made, put in every Japanese giant robot movie ever made, and you got Pacific Rim. Action packed, a plot that fits, love interests and angst-ridden personal loss, it's got it all. Just a couple of very minor technical issues (why wouldnd't they ALL be nuclear powered and EMP-protected? And digital or analogue, an EMP pulse would take them both out), but nothing I can really complain about. Epic enough battles between monster and machine, cities getting crushed, and all sorts of stuff on a ig scale. A perfect summer matinee' flick, one that I can recommend.
