Robots

Another Pixar winner, this time about an entire society of robots and all things mechanized (and I really mean ALL things). With voices from across half of Hollywood, this computerized film about a young entrepid inventor has quite a bit going for it. Preceeded by a little short involving a certain rather popular prehistoric squirrel, robots at first looks part Wizard of Oz inspired and ends up with just a touch of Star Wars style epichness in the final confrontation. All around, it's funny, a bit exciting, and a pretty good story.

Yes the voice talents are all known-names, but this film would have worked with complete unknowns as well. A good film on its own, just add in such things as Robin Williams nearly complete disregard for a script and you got something even better. Pixar has come to the poiunt where it doesn't matter what they make, just that something's a Pixar flick. Kinda like the way Disney films used to be back in their heyday of when the Man himself was still alive.

Oh yeah, and for those that don't feel like sucking a 34MB file down their dial-up straw, the latest Star Wars trailer plays prior to this film.
