The Santa Claus 2

Tim Allen is back as The Big Guy, in a sequel to the first movie that had him inheriting the powers of the Santa Claus. This time there's a new clause (in his contract) made more difficult by other necessities of life.

Things have been going great up until someone forgets there's a little something they forgot to tell the new Santa: he's got to get married or loose being Santa. Add to this a problem with his son and you have the basic plot. Not the type of movie to look for surprise endings or plot twists, this is just a simple amusing little family-level romp, complete with all the usual reindeer, elves, and colorful gizmos.

Funny enough comedy, a little love story, and a bit of strife in the form of a phony Santa, it's worth it for the kids, and for adults looking for a bit of humorous matinee' distraction. No high art here and nothing unexpected but it is a bit funny in a Tim Allen sort of way. At least until the big end of year flicks come out.

Though if you want some real Elves you'll have to wait for LOTR 2 in about a month.
