Scary Movie

The Zucker Brothers have absolutely nothing to worry about, as the Wayans proove that they still need toilet and genital humor to get through a film. I'm not saying this isn't a funny movie, as it does have a few small chuckles, but there seems just a bit too much unneccessary reliance on the appearance of the male genitalia for their gags (and literally nearly right in one's face). Once maybe, but three times?

Just a quick count for anyone interested: jokes that rely on male genitals:3; such jokes that actually show male genitalia:3; jokes that rely on female genitalia:1; appearance of female genitalia (not counting a quick appearance of the front inside cover of a porn mag): 1. Not exactly fair, but that's beside the point that it doesn't even add to any humor. Side point: an appearance of even one vagina would have netted an instant X rating, and yet we weren't lucky enough for this to happen with the male organ present.

Anyway, onto the rest of the film. A few drug gags, take-offs on other famous films, and- Well, you've probably already seen it all; just look at the commercials for Scary Movie showing on television and you've seen all the funny parts and about 90% of the plot.

If you do see it, make sure to stay through the end credits; there's a last scene involving a household appliance and a Human body part. Also, I would definitely rate this film as unfit for anyone under the age of about 15 or with delicate sensibilities.

You want funny? stick with Airplane or Galaxy Quest. You want scary? Try looking at your movie ticket to see how much you paid to see this film.
