The movie inspired by the illfated series "Firefly", it picked up after the series, filling in a few plot holes and concluding the main plot thread that Joss Whedon seemed to have had in mind. For those new to Firefly, there is info enough in the eopening few minutes, as well as an explanation for the rest of us; why the government boys are chasing River in the first place. From there it's on the run from government forces and Reepers as they try to find what it is the government doesn't want anyone to know.

From the point of view of being a fan this is a great movie. The final answer you can see coming a few miniutes before it hits but that doesn't take away from the impact of what the alliance boys did. For those unfamiliar with the series, certain elements will probably have less impact, being as how you'd be less familiar with the main characters, but it still ends up being an enjoyable film. No real negatives here, just a few expectations fulfilled.

A nice little space-western that's worth the matinee' price.
