Sky High

Sky High, the high school for future superheros and their side-kicks. A place with all the usual problems of adolescence amplified by budding super powers. The high school bully could end up as your arch-nemesis supervillain, science lab consists of constructing freeze-guns, and being beside yourself can be taken a lot more literally then otherwise. In short, the sort of high school some of us would have loved to attend had we super powers.

Also the type of place that makes for one great movie!

The son of the planet's two greatest superheros is a furteen year old just starting up high school and hasn't told his parents that he has no sign of any superpowers, but that doesn't stop everyone from having a lot of expectations for the famed offspring. All the expected adolsecent plots are here, from the school head cheerleader, to the long-time female friend that wants to be a lot more but is too shy to say anything, a pair of bullies reminiscent of Bulk and Skull off of Powers Rangers, the unbearable gym teacher (played by Bruce Campbell), and everythinmg else. Of course all of it is amped up to super heights by the craziness of powers raging as wildly as teenage hormones. Of course there's also the background plot as the unseen supervillain lurks about waiting to strike, but more importantly is will that ruin the homecoming dance.

This movie is a whole lot of fun. A couple of twists at the end which some of you (like me) may see coming but does not detract one bit from the enjoyment. I teared up from amusement and good times. I would say that this movie would make a great TV series if I didn't think they'd mess it up. So instead, just go see this film. You won't regret it.
