Sole Survivors

Another Summer haunting, only this time when I saw it I tried NOT to guess what the big secret might be as I wanted to enjoy the well-worked suspense. This worked for a while until the plot began hitting me over the head so I was forced to realize mny suspicions correct.

That aside, the suspense works, the atmosphere is there, and there are small clues ready to spot (hint: look at the backs of certain characters' hands starting about halfway through the film). It takes it a few more minutes to get into the plot then I'd have wished, but after that things start to pick up and you are given enough to wonder about, to postulate just what might be going on before all is revealed.

The ending seems a bit lacking though. Once we and the main character find out what's been happening it's sorta all okay then just ends. I would have preferred some little extra thing at the end, perhaps the tried but true scene or sighting that casts one last shred of doubt on the resolution before fading to black. But be that as it may, overall this is a good matinee' suspense flick and worth the watch.
