A cross between live action, cartoon, and neon-laced video game, this movie adaptation of the original series turns out to actually be not only faithful to the original, but quite good. With only the minor detail or who exactly put in the bulk of the Mach 5's special gizmos (in the series, Pops did it all), all is as it should be, complete with action sequences that border on the visually surreal at times. Plemty of action, plot enough, and was that Tim Curry as the bad guy? Oh, and the soundtrack? Not just a cameo appearance of the original theme, but well laced strains of it throughout the entire score.

Nothing bad to say here, nothing at all to be said save this: all Racer fans MUST go see this film!
