Spiderman 2

It's not just the best superhero film ever, not just the best movie of this summer, and not just what will turn out to be one of the best films of the year, but one of the best movies I've seen. Period! At times a rousing adventure, at times a tear-jerker, at times a romance, it is at all times an emotional tale of heroic proportions.

Doc Ock is letter perfect. His origins, motivations, the whole look, and those tentacles. Then we have the whole MJ and Peter Parker pining away for each other, the way being Spiderman always interferes with Peter's life, trying to be a hero and pay the bills, trying to get the girl. Throw in some cameo appearances (Bruce Campbell, and theguy who will forever after be known as Joxer from Xena), the original spiderman tune once again making it's appearance, and you have sokmething even better than the first movie. I have never before seen a more successful and faithful comic-book adaptation- this aside from the fact that it's a darn good movie in it'sown right.

Oh yeah, and once again the CD gets an 'F' for refusing to have the full great Danny Elfman score. The movie itself, though, gets an 'A+'.
