Stardust

A member of the growing Narnia Genre, in which some kid or young adudlt goes through a portal from Earth to some parallel fantasy world, though this done better than I suspect the next five (at last count) coming out later this year. Mid 1850s England, in a small city named Wall, after the wall separating them from said fantasy domain with just one way through, a young man's trip through begets a baby that will grow up find his claim upon that world. The just-grown kid starts off chasing after a fallen star to find the expected in romance, adventure, and reward. Predictable but still quite well done.

Watch out for a number of high-caliber stars hidden throughout this movie, including a surprising and funny DiNero, and Peter O'Toole as a dying king. Most movie plots nowadays are entirely obvious and predictable so what remains is how well it's pulled off. Well, I'll say this; it is now a three-way tie between this, Spiderman 3, and Pirates 3, as to which is the best movie of the summer. I could give examples as to why but that would spoil things. Instead, just take my word for this and go see this thing. It has humor, love, adventure, a good chase sequence, and a dramataic showdown.

Stardust, the last godd flick of the Summer.
