The One

There can only be one.

Different film, I know, but this does seem to be the basic theme here. This movie poses the question "what would happen in a multiverse of alternate universes if one of your alternate selves killed off all the others?" Simple enough question that leads to an excuse for your basic super-powered martial arts fight between Jet Li and himself.

I won't say if the science behind such suppositions might be faulty, seeing as how we're talking multiversal travel, but the logic within their own proposed science is indeed faulty, or at least as stated by the characters involved. Though even the characters never get to see if they're right as the film's conclusion is missing that one answer you want to know. I do appreciate, however, this as one of the very few films (in movie history) to go into the whole multiverse concept, though with one of the most painful methods of inter-dimensional travel as one may have ever seen.

That aside, between the cheap Matrix-style fight sequences at every turn, some cartoonishly amusing fight moves, and a plot where the whoole point is just to make these guys fight, we're definitely talking big-time Cheese here. Four dollar matinee cheese, good for a couple hours of mindlress entertainment. So, on my Cheesey Scale, I hereby award it a Provalone
