This movie is for those that thought The Exorcist was too bright and cheery. A dark and dreary tone from the very background lighting to the details of the plot. A sort of a religious thriller, where the villain is someone called a Sin Eater on the one hand, versus the Church (but this latter also viewed as sort of a villain), in plot that tries to take several turns but none of them all that unexpected.

Not a horror film, and yet if it's a thriller it's rather lax as we can see the direction things take the entire way along and who ends up where, it's only a matter of the details. Not really bad in the usual sense, but if you're looking for a good time then spend your movie money on lunch instead.
