Van Helsing

The last time I saw this many famous movie monsters in the same film, the title had the words "Abbot and Costello Vs" in it. That said, this is actually a pretty entertaining B movie, if you keep in mind that it's obviously meant in the spirit of just having some good old fashioned fun.

A bit of over acting inplaces, but even that seems more in the wayof paying homage to the old monster classics, though a couple of scenes border on the satire. Some pieces of dialogue are even lifted straight from the original material ("It's alive, it's alive!") but done so with love. It's obvious the ones behind this filmn love the old monster classics from the early days of movies.

Things to watch out for. Killer Ewoks that speak sorta like Daleks, a rapid-fire hydrolic crossbow, Harpy-vampire ladies, and straight from his acting premier in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen we have Mr. Hyde for a guest spot. But don't expect the film to pay attention to ANY of the classic legends in the majority of their details, this film just has to be taken on it's own. Ignore the very many alterations to classic legend and story and just learn to have some fun. The sound track's pretty good too.

A good old fashioned B movie that deserves a Cheesey Scale rating of Limburger.
