What can I say, it's Jumanji In Space. Even so, it's not too bad. Major elements reminiscent of the original, of course, with a few alterations here and there, and a small (not too surprising) twist. Beyond that it's just good family fun (and really not deserving of a PG rating; this is pretty much G all the way).

Though one wonders if the book's author can write anything other than a Jumanji-styled plot line, this film nonetheless carried it off pretty well. It won't win any awards, but is still fun. Just don't pay anymore then bargain prices for it (it's good, but not traffic-stopping-great). The plot is predictable: magic board-game hurls the kids out into space on fantastic adventures, brings them near to death, and in the end they learn something. Throw in a few laughs and some special effects and you're done. As far as recommending it, that all depends on your pocket book this week; it's not a bad movie, but like I said, it IS Jumanji into Space.
