Zoolander

Okay, so going in the only reason why I went to see this film was because it was the only thing out there and I was desperate. I figured a comedy wouldn't be all that bad, though I didn't expect much from this film. I went in thinking it was going to be pretty bad.

So, imagine my surprise when I started to laugh! ben Stiller is Zoolander, a brainless clueless male supermodel in a movie that pokes fun at the entire lot of them with a plot almost as amusing as it is preposperous. Zoolander is used by a committee of clothing manufacturers to assassinate a foreign prime minister who threatens to eliminate child labor in his country, thus threatening cheap costs and high profits. Male models make the perfect assassins (as explained by an amuzingly-placed cameo), and Zoolanderbeing the stupidest of the bunch gets unwittingly recruited.

And that's all before anything really starts. At first amusing as we see just how dense one can be, then graduating into some good laughs, and finally a confrontation made all the more laughable because the actors play it for serious drama.

Don't be put off by the ridiculous display for it in theater lobbies, it's not all that bad, a grade B piece of comedy that is good enough for a desperate matinee.
