Zoom

Captain Zoom, the world's fastest superhero, is brought out of retirement to train a new generation of really young superheros (the youngest being six). He's no longer the hero he used to be, couldn't care less about helping out the government, and is pretty much burnt out. Throw in the return of his evil betrayer brother soon to return and the local miltary general that doesn't care about the children's welfare as long as the job gets done, and you have the setup for this family comedy.

The superhero-science logic of this film is sort of stuck in the 70's, but well enough for the comedy part; purists don't expect anything more than the parody of superhero flicks that it is. That aside, it isn't too bad, amusing at times, though of course with the usual predictable ending. More of a solid rental than a see at the theater must. One minor gaff, though... when the kids were safely hiding in the secret room behind the electrical panel, when did they get suddenly in the completely other room under guard?

Anyway, it's a pretty fair family comedy that has its moments. Just wait for the DVD if you can.
